John Sherman is a medical doctor and author, specialising in the treatment of heroin dependence. He has spent his professional working life treating and caring for addicts in St Kilda and Footscray in Melbourne.

John is joining us to discuss his work, and perspective on drug law in Australia; he is running for Senate for the Drug Law Reform Party, whose platform consists of challenging the narrative that prohibition protects society from the issues with drug dependence. He has first hand experience of the trauma and distress to families when a loved one develops a drug problem, as well as a wealth of clinical practice and experience from which to draw his conclusions.

John has co-authored a book titled ‘Drug Addiction In Australia’, which is available online and through your local bookstores.
